Board Elections will be here soon!
We’re putting out the call to all member-owners:
Stand up, run, and make your voice heard!
This spring there will be five open seats for the KCFC Board of Directors. We encourage all owners to submit nominations and/or consider nominating themselves. (All nominees must be current KCFC owners.)
One of the reasons why cooperatives are so unique is that our owners actively participate in the democratic process. Elected by and held accountable by KCFC owners, the Board of Directors represents the voice and opinions of KCFC owners. Responsibilities include overseeing and evaluating management, reporting on the state of the Co-op, overseeing bylaws changes, and approving the budget. Running for the board and voting are great ways for owners to get more involved.
And as we ramp-up to store opening, it has never been a more exciting time to lead.
"I’m in. What do I need to do?"
Nominate yourself or someone else: By March 24, complete this short form to share your nomination. Upon receipt of your nominations, we will email the candidate information about the application and upcoming dates.
Ask questions, Get Informed: We encourage you to attend the Open House with the Board on Saturday, March 18th, from 10am to noon at the site. Meet current board members, ask questions, get updates on the store, and tour the site. More info about the open house.
Attend a Board Meeting: Get a better understanding of how the board governs. Most months, the board meets the 2nd Thursday and the 4th Monday. Email our Board President, Holly Logan, for location details and to RSVP.
Attend the May 6 General Meeting: Candidates will give a short pitch about themselves and why they want to be a board member. No worries, more details will be given to the candidates!
Now’s your time to lead.
Email the Leadership Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions about elections.
We look forward to hearing from you.
