KCFC Is $350,000 Closer to Store Opening

We are thrilled to announce major project funding news:

KCFC has been awarded a $350,000 grant by the City of Philadelphia!

The funding comes to the project through the Cultural Corridor Fund, a program administered by the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Commerce. This grant will allow KCFC to invest in capital improvements for our future grocery store on 2666-2672 Coral Street before the end of this year.
Alongside this grant announcement, KCFC has hit several big milestones:

Adding to the good news, winning this grant has cut our funding gap in half. We are now projecting that we can break ground on construction in early 2017… but to get there, we need your help.

An important piece of getting our store open is the investment that comes directly from you. Of the $1.5 million committed to the project so far, over $240,000 has come from everyday folks like you in the form of member loans—friendly financing from members repaid with interest after the store is open.

Between now and November 15, a team of volunteers will be personally reaching out to members to talk about deepening their investment in our store and our community with a member loan. Will you join us?

We are in the home stretch – you can help get us to the finish line.
