Site Location Announcement Party at PBC

On Sunday May 4th, the Kensington Community Food Co-op joined together with our members, friends, and neighbors, to celebrate the announcement of the location of our grocery store!

It was a momentous occasion, much anticipated by everyone- from the Site Search Committee, Board Members, and Committee Chairs to active members, friends and neighbors.

The Philadelphia Brewing Company was an incredible host, and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

We had an incredible feast, supplied by lots of local businesses and KCFC members.

We filled the room to capacity.

We even gained 25 new members Sunday. That's right, twenty-five!

And of course, we announced the location!

We are so excited to have a building that has so many valuable assets:

Accessible by public transit, green space, a parking lot, a liquor license, bookmarking the Frankford Commercial Corridor, and to boot, the location serves Fishtown, East Kensington, Olde Richmond, Port Richmond, Northern Liberties and Kensington. An absolutely incredible find, we couldn't have done better.

And a deep, deep thank you to the incredible KCFC members, Mike and Sue Wade, who purchased the building: On April 14th we signed a 10-year lease with an option to purchase.

Congratulations! We did it!
